Metamorphosis: a change of the form or nature of a thing or person into a completely different one, by natural or supernatural means
To me, Metamorphosis is a show about embracing one of life’s few constants: change. As caterpillars evolve into chrysalises, and chrysalises into butterflies, we can too experience stagnancy, darkness, and transformation. Change can be uncomfortable, scary, and difficult to accept, but it is inevitable, beautiful, and necessary for growth.
While undergoing change, the beauty and growth developing within may hide itself, waiting only for the right moment to be revealed, like within a chrysalis. In this stage of life, it may look like nothing is happening from the outside, but underneath the surface, major changes are occurring.
The struggles that can accompany change may feel daunting, confining, or too much to handle. It can feel like there is no escape. But butterflies have the power to emerge and fly only after fighting to get out; it’s their struggle that makes them stronger. Without challenges, we remain stagnant.
Butterflies remind us that even after going through a period of darkness, you can become something extraordinary. So keep growing, don’t give up your fight, and remember that beauty is found in change.
